Liliana Segre and the Remembrance Day
I’m so sorry to be 90 years old and to know that I have a few more years ahead of me, even though the haters wish me dead every day, I’m so sorry to have to give up life. Because I like my life very much.
We did not choose to attach ourselves to electrified wires in order to choose death, which would come in a second. We chose life, a very important word that should not be wasted and should never be forgotten even for a minute.
You are free people, you must think for yourselves, not for those who shout the loudest. You must not lose a single minute of this extraordinary emotion that is life.
Because in the tic-tac that is time passing, the tic is already tac.
Today we want to remember the terrible facts connected to the Holocaust and the Second World War with this quote from Liliana Segre, Italian activist, politician and Holocaust survivor, since 15 April 2021 president of the Extraordinary Commission for the fight against the phenomena of intolerance, racism, anti-Semitism and incitement to hatred and violence.
